Mrs. Wiecoreck’s
Happenings
Students report to the Resource Room to receive small group instruction in reading, language arts, and math. Each student is taught at his or her own level, and individual needs are addressed. During the first week of school much time was spent on classroom orientation, organization skills, and classroom procedures.
Various reading skills are practiced through the use of texts, puzzles, and computer programs. Expressive writing is practiced daily. The students have been focusing on forming a paragraph with a topic sentence, supporting details, and a concluding sentence. They are very careful to write complete sentences with the proper punctuation.
In math, problem solving is stressed and is practiced on a daily basis.
The students are becoming familiar with the various problem solving strategies
and are learning to use them.
