Ms. Clear

Fall 2008
Ms. Clear is a recent graduate from The College of New Jersey, where she majored in Music Education with a focus in clarinet. She completed her student teaching at Auten Road Intermediate School in Hillsborough, NJ. In 2006 she spent a semester at Kingston University in England, and in 2007 she completed a theatre internship with Shakespeare ’70. Miss Clear looks forward to working with your students, and hopes to inspire them to expand their musical horizons! Ms. Clear teaches classes at 16th Avenue on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Friday afternoons.
We have been having a lot of fun in music class this year! Students in grades preschool–3 have been learning songs and dances that relate to the seasons, as well as basic music concepts. All students in Grades 4 and 5 have been preparing for the Annual Winter Concert. We are learning songs in a variety of styles. The students have been working very hard to learn the chorus songs for this year’s concert and we hope to see you there!
The spring concert is Monday, May 18th at 7:00 p.m.
Please make sure your child is here at the media center by 6:30 p.m.
Dress for the concert is as follows:
Boys: Black pants, black shoes, white shirt, tie (optional)
Girls: Black pants/skirt, black shoes, white blouse
All clothing must follow school dress code.
No sneakers, jeans, or t-shirts.

Ms. Trott
Grade 4 and Grade 5
Instrumental Music News
Originally from Massachusetts, Ms. Trott is a charter member of the Greater Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra performing both In Jordan Hall and overseas as a member of the violin section. Ms. Trott received her undergraduate training from Nyack College. She has played violin professionally with many local orchestras as well as with the Ramapo Fault String band. As a conductor, Ms. Trott has been honored to be selected as a guest conductor of the All Bergen County Middle School Band, the All Bergen County High School Band, and the All North Jersey Junior Band. Ms. Trott continues to serve on the Music Educators of Bergen County executive board as a Member-At-Large. Ms. Trott’s instrumental music classes are on Wednesday and Thursday at 16th Avenue School.
Instrumental students in Grades 4 and 5 are diligently preparing for the Annual Winter Concert. Students will participate in various ensembles to demonstrate their musical skills.
Please encourage your child to remember to bring his/her instrument and lesson book to school each week and to practice assignments given.
